The Restoration Process

Microscope Inspection

Every card begins with a detailed inspection under magnification. This allows us to identify surface defects, micro-scratches, edge wear, dents, and structural issues that may not be visible to the naked eye. Based on this inspection, the appropriate restoration approach is determined to avoid unnecessary risk and ensure the correct level of treatment.

Precision Cleaning

The card is carefully cleaned using specialized card-safe solutions to remove surface contaminants such as oils, residue, and debris. Application methods are controlled and minimal to preserve the integrity of the card surface, especially for cards intended for grading.

Structural Correction

Any visible imperfections such as light creases, dents, or surface irregularities are addressed using controlled techniques. This stage focuses on improving the card’s overall appearance while maintaining structural integrity. Each correction is performed with careful consideration of the card’s condition and limitations.

Cards showing warping or structural distortion are stabilized using controlled flattening methods. Depending on the condition, this may include:

  • Heat press techniques

  • Humidity control (humidifier box)

  • Manual flattening processes

Flattening & Stabilization

All methods are applied gradually to reduce stress on the card.

Final Polish & Preparation

The final stage enhances surface clarity and presentation through light polishing and finishing techniques.Cards are then prepared for storage or grading submission, ensuring they are clean, properly handled, and ready for their next step.
